Booking T&C’S:

  • Bookings can only be made by people over the age of 18.

  • The Paddocks provide fully trained bar staff as required by legislation during your event. The number of staff required will depend on the numbers of guests at your event.

  • All correspondence will solely be between the person who is making/made the booking and The Paddocks.

  • The Paddocks will be the sole provider of all alcoholic beverages from the Filly & Fox Horsebox Bar at the event.

Minimum Spend:

  • We operate on a minimum spend basis. This means that we expect the spend at the bar to reach a minimum amount.  We have a scale of minimum spend depending on the guest numbers expected to attend the event.

  • The minimum spend must be paid in its entirety, less the deposit already paid, at least one calendar month prior to the event date.

  • The minimum spend will be returned to you when the minimum spend amount is met at the bar. If the minimum spend is not met then the remainder will need to be taken from your deposit or if the deposit is not sufficient, you will be asked to make payment by card prior to leaving The Paddocks.

Deposit to secure booking and date:

  • A deposit of £150 is required to secure your event date. This enables us to start all the proceedings for your event and includes the hire of The Paddock and The Filly & Fox Horsebox Bar with trained members of staff.

  • The deposit is required at the time of booking and can be paid by cash or card.

  • If your deposit isn't paid/received at the time of booking your event is not secured and we may take other bookings for the required date.

  • The remainder of the minimum spend balance will be due one calendar month prior to the date of the event. If the balance isn't paid/received by this date your booking date will become available to others to book and your deposit will not be refundable.

  • If the event has been booked less than eight weeks before the event takes place then the full amount must be cleared in our bank account no less than 46 working days prior to the event.

  • Please note once an agreement on price has been settled upon and the deposit taken no alteration to the agreed price can be provided unless additional guests or drinks are required.

Cancellation:

  • Your £150 deposit will be refunded if you cancel your event at least one calendar month prior to the event date.

  • If you cancel with less than one calendar months notice you will not receive a refund of your deposit.

Responsible drinking:

  • We always encourage responsible drinking and act within the law. We reserve the right to refuse alcohol to anyone who becomes or seems to be aggressive, or drunk.

  • If you or any of your party are lucky enough to look under the age of 25, please don’t be offended if we ask you for proof of age. We operate the Challenge 25 scheme at all times.   Please click here for more information.

 

Prices and measures:

  • All prices are subject to change depending on availability and Minimum Alcohol pricing.

  • All our full spirit measures are dictated by the license we are operating under.

Additional Terms:

  • In the event that The Paddocks are unable to provide services as agreed due to circumstances out of our control (such as major weather conditions) we will not be held responsible for loss, cancellation or delay. 

  • In the event that a particular drink is unavailable or The Paddocks run out of stock for that drink we will not be held responsible for being unable to serve this. The Paddocks will endeavour to source a suitable replacement.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU CHECK THE FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM MEDIA FOR THE ACTIVITIES THAT ARE HAPPENING BEFORE YOU COME ALONG.

 

The Paddocks are primarily the home to the horses and ponies of the Equestrian Centre, please do bear this in mind when coming along.  We have to be extra careful that nothing is left in the paddock that they could eat and become unwell.  Likewise, the straw/haybale seating is their food and bedding so if you are using it please be mindful of this as well.

 

The Picnic Paddock:

 

When are you open?

Most weekends from 10:30 – 16:00 from April – September (Inclusive).  We are weather dependent so aren’t likely to be open if its torrential rain.  Look out for the flag to be flying outside, that tells you we are open.

 

Do you take cards?

Yes we accept cards, apple pay etc and cash.

 

Where can I park?

You can park at the Equestrian Centre, but please use the Catherington Lane pavement/footpath to walk down to the Paddock as the Equestrian Centre can get busy and we want to ensure that the public and horses are safe.

 

Do you have toilets?

Yes, we have an outside toilet around the back of the house.

 

What type of food do you offer?

We offer primarily cakes and sweet treats that are available on the day, as are crisps if you prefer a savoury option.  We do also offer picnic platters and afternoon teas but these need to be booked in advance (by Tuesday evening for the following weekend) as these are made by other local business and we would need to put your order through.

 

When is Afternoon Tea available?

Afternoon Tea is bookable in advance, by Tuesday for the following weekend. It is available from 14:00 – 16:00 and you can have it with hot drinks or processo/pimms, reflected in the price.

 

Can I hire out the entire Picnic Paddock for the day?

This isn’t something that we normally do as we have The Party Paddock for evening Bars and Hire.  However, please message us and depending on the other activities that may be taking place that day there may be an opportunity available.

 

When is the Bar open?

We are permitted to sell Alcohol from midday.

 

Do you cater for vegans?

We do offer vegan brownies but unfortunately these aren’t always readily available.

 

Do you have Gluten Free options?

We always have GF brownies and Victoria Sponge available.

 

Can I book the Pods?

The pods are available on a first come first served basis unless you are booking in for afternoon tea, in which case one will be reserved for your party.

 

Are dogs welcome?

Yes, as long as they are on a lead and under control.

 

 

The Party Paddock:

 

Can I book The Party Paddock for a private event?

Yes, we hire The Party Paddock out on a minimum spend basis from 7pm – 11pm.  You will need to message us to check that the date is available.  We can arrange a food options for you, alternatively you are welcome to arrange your own.

 

When is The Party Paddock open as a Bar?

We run Pop Up Sunset Bars some evenings from around 7/7.30 till Sunset – these are ad hoc and will be posted on Facebook and Instagram, generally at the weekends and if the weather permits.  We also run Summer Sundown Events, these are bookable and have a set date, they will be posted on Facebook and Instagram.

 

Can you have live music?

Yes, we are licenced for recorded and live music.

 

How many people can you accommodate?

We are licenced for up to 120 but can always apply for a Temporary Event Notice for additional numbers.

 

What is available at the Bar?

We have a fully stocked bar offering Beers, Ales, Ciders, Gins, Rums, Spirits, Mixers as well as the hot drinks, milkshakes and smoothies.

 

Do you offer camping?

Not that the moment no.

 

Do you offer food at the evening events?

We do have food options and sometimes one of the caterers will be here ad hoc. If not, you are welcome to bring your own food, please ensure rubbish is disposed of correctly.
